Chapter Meeting and Other DKG Events for 2018-2018
2018-2019 Theme: Health, Education, Welfare, Projects, and Fun
Chapter Meeting: August 16, 2018: First meeting of the year. Welcome to a new year of Delta Kappa Gamma and plan the new year. Alpha Chapter is the Hostess for Fall Board. Our responsibilities will be discussed. 2018 dues will be discussed and approval. Can pay at this meeting. 2018-2019 Yearbook revision will be discussed. We have new officers. Their duties will be discussed.
Project focus: Donation to Cancer - snacks for cancer center and Donations for Schools for Africa. Hostesses: Lelia Frank: drinks and paper goods, Thelma Burton: Veggies, Chandra Spicer: Veggies, Joan Jones Salty, Catherine Darby: Sweets, Lelia Franks: Sweets.
Fall Board: The annual Fall Board, held here in Montgomery at the Dalraida Church of Christ on Atlanta Highway. Though the meeting is specifically for the offices of President, Vice President and Treasurer, it is an invitation for growth for all DKG Members.
The registration application must be postmarked on or before August 11, 2018. Please mark your calendar to attend, if you are new or never attended, you will enjoy it and be informed regarding the sisterhood and workings of our organization. Mrs. Chandra Spicer, Alpha Treasurer, has agreed to send any registrations or payments for DKG pins, name plates, etc. as ONE payment. Please mail or give your fees, with completed registration form, or item number and name of item to her.
We will pay special attention to the DKG song this year. Please work on learning our song. You can located the DKG song and its tune on youtube.com.

Induction Ceremony: November 1, 2018, Eastbrook Café, 520 Coliseum Blvd. Program: induction ceremony for new member with guest speaker Donna Butler, DKG State President. Decorations: Alpha Chapter: Thelma Burton, Patricia Carstarphen, Bettye Palmer, Elizabeth Callen. Purchase red roses and membership certificates for inductees: Chandra Spicer. Each chapter will assist with setting up. Thelma Burton has forms and pencils/pens. Philanthropy: donation to American Cancer Society from Silent Auction and Schools for Africa.
Christmas Party: December 6, 2018 Hostess: Catherine Darby. Program: Nancy Karrick, Immediate State Past President will be our guest speaker. Retirees provide food for the celebration. Philanthropy: All members will provide at least one Purse for Battered Women of the Sunshine Center of Montgomery an Agency for Battered Women: leave the tag on please; include personal items, hygiene items, items for children-all ages, phone card, whatever you can afford. Nominations: For scholarships for members and/or grants-in-aid for non-members and for Distinctive Service Award. Philanthropy: donation to PAWS project and Schools for Africa

Cost: $30.00—The menu is the dinner; $25.00 -no wine (please confirm attendance with Lelia W. Frank). Program Part I : Wine, cheese and meat pairing Presenter: Michael Hochhalter, Public’s Cheese Specialist. Program Part II: Celebration of Alpha Chapter Birthday, Chapter established February 22, 1932.
